CHRISTMAS PARTY

The Christmas Tradition: “Home Alone 1” and Cozy Vibes

If the New Year is about looking forward, Christmas at BBD is all about the warmth of the present moment and the traditions that bind us together.

Following our wonderful New Year’s gathering, the BBD family was invited to celebrate Christmas at the home of another one of our esteemed professors. It seems that “hospitality” is a core subject taught by all our faculty members, as once again, we found ourselves welcomed with open arms into a beautiful, festive home.

A Table Full of Joy

The evening began with a feast of Christmas treats. The atmosphere was filled with the spirit of the season—soft carols playing in the background, a beautifully decorated tree, and a table overflowing with cookies, fruits, and homemade snacks. For many of us international students, being in a real home during the holidays is the best gift we could receive, making us feel truly connected and cared for.

Back to the Beginning

Watching Home Alone 1 While our New Year’s party featured the sequel, for Christmas, we decided to go back to where it all began. We gathered in the living room, passed around the popcorn, and hit play on the original Home Alone.

Watching Kevin McCallister defend his house for the first time sparked a wave of nostalgia. We laughed at the classic antics, but more importantly, we shared a moment of togetherness. There’s something special about watching a movie about “home” while sitting in the home of a mentor who has become like family to us.

Building Lifelong Bonds

These invitations are more than just social events; they are the heart of our Bilingual Business Department. They break down the barriers between “teacher” and “student,” creating a space of mutual respect and friendship. We learned that a successful business is like a well-run home—it requires patience, humor, and a lot of heart.
